Bachelor of Arts "Applied Sports Science"

The Bachelor's degree programme in Applied Sports Science can be started in the winter semester. The standard period of study is 6 semesters.

The aim of the programme is to optimally prepare students for a career start by providing a high level of expertise and practical training. A multi-perspective education in the basic area and an in-depth, application-oriented education in the 3rd year of study impart theoretical knowledge, practical skills and target group-specific differentiation for application-oriented professional activity in the context of health (e.g. rehabilitation, prevention, fitness, competitive sports). A combination of theory and practice enables students to act responsibly. The projects in the third year of study serve to understand, apply and deepen the fundamentals. Application-oriented training enables theoretical knowledge to be translated into practical, solution-orientated strategies.

The possibility of extra-curricular additional qualifications and the Studium Generale enhance the specialised training, improve solution-oriented action strategies and increase career (entry) opportunities. Practical training in various co-operative institutions provides students with multi-perspective insights into the professional field of sports science.

The modules consist of compulsory and compulsory elective courses. The compulsory elective courses have different specialisations, which can be taken according to individual interests.

The Sports Science degree programme concludes with the successful completion of all examinations of the Bachelor's degree programme. The coursework and examinations to be completed are regulated by the relevant examination regulations and are completed during the course of study.
