As an enrolled student, you are insured through the Unfallkasse NRW.

Insurance cover is provided for all study-related activities that fall within the organisational responsibility of the university. This includes not only attending lectures, seminars or tutorials, but also participating in student self-administration, visiting the university library or going on excursions. Participation in the sports aptitude test is also covered by statutory accident insurance.

Direct study-related journeys are also insured. Even the journey to enrolment is covered, as is the journey home when you leave the university. On the other hand, the preparation of a dissertation outside the organisational area of responsibility of the university, private study trips or the follow-up of a lecture at home and private visits to career or job fairs as well as preparatory courses for studies prior to enrolment are not insured.
