About us
The "Theory and Practice of Sport and Movement Fields" group is responsible for the practical training of sports students, which is an important, career-preparing core area, especially in the teacher training programme.
Our main task is the planning and implementation of courses in sports practice (see Teaching) for the two Bachelor's degree programmes (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education) and the Master's degree programme in teaching (Master of Education). We offer around 60 to 80 courses per semester. As our core team is quite small, we are very grateful for the support of lecturers from other groups and external lecturers (see People).
In addition to teaching, we manage a wide range of organisational tasks: The heads of sports are responsible for organising the content of the courses and examinations within a movement field. The module leaders coordinate the various movement fields of a module and take on administrative and planning tasks for this purpose. We also organise, for example, the Aptitude test, create the framework for supervised and free practice times (in cooperation with the sports mentoring project), teaching and examination planning and the supervision of our lecturers.
