GlyCoBrain study enters the next round
Since July 2024, the DFG-funded GlyCoBrain Study has been conducted at the Institute of Nutrition, Consumption and Health as a joint project of the Public Health Nutrition and Nutritional Science groups. The aim is to better understand the relationships between blood glucose response, cognition and chronotype.
The first project phase was successfully completed at the end of January 2025 with the screening of 356 participants. The intervention phase is now beginning, in which the influence of the glycaemic index of breakfast on cognitive performance as a function of chronotype will be investigated. A follow-up study will then focus on the effect of reactive hypoglycaemia on cognitive performance. We will report on the further course of this and the follow-up study.
