As part of the COLOURS Alliance, the CoLab and hackathon ‘Frugal Innovations in Food Production and Green Transition’ will take place from 7 to 9 July at the Start-up Campus OWL at Paderborn University (garage33). Together, they will develop solutions at the intersection of food production and the green transition, with representatives from industry, politics, administration, and civil society.

The focus will be on topics such as organic food production, reducing food waste and healthy consumer choices. Together, they will develop ideas, scenarios, business models and prototypes that promote sustainable innovation and provide new impetus for start-up projects.

A highlight of the programme is the public panel discussion on 7 July from 9.30 am to 12 noon. Anyone interested can watch the discussion via livestream without registration. The stream will be available on the Paderborn University’s YouTube channel .

Among those taking part in the panel discussion is Gabi Börries from the ‘Lifestyle and Socioeconomics of the Private Household’ research group. She will speak on the topic ‘Food Consumption – the Private Household Perspective’.
