Nutritional sciences: Research and development

Nutritional research often focuses on the prevention of physical diseases. A special feature of our research is the simultaneous consideration of physical and mental aspects of nutrition, particularly with regard to depression, ADHD, overweight and obesity. In addition, we investigate issues relating to dietary behaviour and its determinants. In doing so, we primarily look at the phase of life from childhood to young adulthood, so that the early phases of the development of chronic diseases are the focus of our research. Our overarching goal is to use our research to contribute to the evidence-based development of population-based nutritional recommendations and prevention concepts.
