Do I have to pay a tuition fee?

No, but you have to pay a semester contribution (round about 300€ per semester), which includes for example free transport (busses and trains) in North Rhine-Westphalia or cheap meals at the cafeteria.

No, but there are other opportunities to apply for scholarships (for example via German Academic Exchange Service - DAAD).

Does my university letter work as a substitute for English language proficiency?

No. Only a BA/BSc degree earned in a native English speaking country or of a study program in Germany that has been accredited as an English language program works as a proof of language skills.

Does my BA / BSc degree taught in English work as a proof of English language skills?

Only a BA/BSc degree earned in a native English speaking country (like USA, GB, Ireland, Canada, and Australia) or of a study program in Germany that has been accredited as an English language program works as a proof of language skills.
Applicants can also demonstrate knowledge of English by submitting any of the following (not older than 2 years):
- a certificate confirming that they have achieved level B2 (TOEFL: 87 (iBT) or 550 (pbT); IELTS: 5,5 or FCE (Cambridge ESOL); Unicert II or an equivalent form of proof)

Do I need German language skills to study at Paderborn University?

German language skills are not mandatory for admission but strongly recommended if the internship is planned to be done in German facilities. It might then be necessary to communicate with i.e. patients or athletes in German.

Do I need an additional proof of English skills if my school-leaving certificate (Abitur) is older than two years?

No, the limited duration does not apply for the school and bachelor graduation certificates as they do not expire.
